A double basin layout means you’ll lose benchtop space, so a larger/ longer vanity suits this style.

In our Bella La Vista penthouse project, above, we installed undermount basins into a natural stone vanity with a stunning 250mm apron. The clean lines keep the focus on the stone — a classic touch that elevates the entire space.

Pro tip: Choose a layout that allows enough benchtop and drawer space. A custom design from your designer can ensure form and function go hand in hand.

Freestanding Bathtub

A freestanding bathtub instantly signals luxury. These classic tubs open up the space visually and make your bathroom feel more like a retreat. For a high-end finish, you’ll need at least 150mm of clearance around the bath for both access and cleaning.

At our Mooloolaba Marmo project, above, we used a floor-mounted bath mixer to complete the grand effect and enhance the sense of space and opulence. For tighter spaces, a wall-mounted option can work just as well.

Want to go all out? Consider solid stone, marble, or composite stone baths for your bath- the texture of these luxurious materials simply can’t compare to acrylic and they become the hero feature of your bathroom.

Styling your beautiful bathroom with small luxuries like fluffy towels, fragrant hand soaps and fresh flowers all contribute to an elevated luxury bathroom experience. A bath caddy or a simple stool for your candle, book and glass of wine is a must. Bonus points if your stool or chair is timber- this lends a lovely warmth and character to the smooth, hard surfaces of a bathroom.

Luxury Lighting

Great lighting transforms a bathroom from purely functional to atmospheric and serene. During any Sunshine Coast renovation, lighting should be considered in the early design stages. We recommend a blend of wall sconces at face height for mirror use; overhead task lighting for practicality, and LED strip lighting under vanities or in architectural features for a soft glow at nighttime. Our rule of thumb: warm tones only, subtle placement, and dimmable options where possible. Whether it’s a night-time soak or a morning rush, adaptable lighting makes all the difference.

Mitred Edges

If you’re investing in a quality bathroom renovation, don’t let poor finishing details drag down the look. Mitred tile edges are a hallmark of luxury. A mitred edge is a type of edge finish where two tiles are cut at a 45-degree angle and joined to create a seamless and professional 90-degree corner. This is a small detail that will really elevate your bathroom and make it feel so much more luxurious.
